Rigorous Academic Curriculum and Assessments:  Our network of schools offers rigorous and relevant curriculum and instruction.  How do our schools determine what students know and are able to do? The state assessment, Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP), NWEA’s Measured Academic Progress (MAP), and interim assessments are used to calculate or evaluate how we must adjust to best meet the needs of our students.

Strategic Student Interventions:
In order to ensure that every student is college-ready by the end of 12th grade, LEAD Public Schools requires all students to attend an extended school day and school year. Because most of our fifth graders come to LEAD Public Schools performing below grade-level, additional time during the school day is dedicated to strategic interventions in order to guarantee that students are able to meet academic standards.

Relevant Enrichment Opportunities:Our students have access to a variety of life-changing extracurricular activities that enhance their middle and high school experiences.

  • College Trips: All of our students take college trips. These trips allow for students to experience college life and expose them to life outside of Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Accelerated Studies and Summer Programming: Our schools leverage our partnerships to provide the best and most unique summer opportunities available.  LEAD recognizes leaders are made and need academic acceleration and service learning opportunities. These programs also serve as a channel to integrate science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM).

Our VISION:  We will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to graduate 100% of our students and send them to a four-year college. Our unwavering commitment to this goal begins in fifth grade. Over the past seven years, LEAD Public Schools has touted the importance of seeing our vision become a reality. In 2014, LEAD Academy High School proved it possible.  We are beginning to formally support our alumni and find ways to extend ongoing support throughout college to ensure they persist and earn a degree.
